The day of my Confirmation.

I was kneeling at the alter in a line of young girls all dressed in white with veils. The bishop came up to me and dipped his thumb into the sacred chrism. He traced a cross on my forehead and gently slapped me on my cheek and babbled some words about the Holy Spirit. His hand was oily from the cross he put on my forehead, I could feel the oil running down my cheek. He held out his oily fat hand that I might kiss his ring, I couldn't do it, I schifo (disgusted) the thought of it, so I got up and walked out of the church, much to the displeasure and embarrassment to my family. From that day on I was always called a bad girl and years later when I had to go to her home with my husband, the first words she said to my husband were, "Is she still a bad girl"? And to think I was 41 years!

One day Sister Mary Raymond came up to me during class and asked, why do have brown eyes? I looked up in surprise and before I could speak, she said because I was full of shit to my eyes.
